Portrait Commissions
Memorial Portraits
Memorial portraits honor a life with a work of permanence.
When a photograph is all that remains, the Service composes from it a dignified oil portrait to be kept within the family.
Our associates handle memorial commissions with particular care, and can work from limited or imperfect references.
What to prepare
Preparing your photographs.
- Photographs
- One clear photograph of each subject is all that is needed — in good light, from the front or at a slight angle. More are welcome if you have them.
- Placement
- Where the portrait will hang, and whether the setting is formal or informal.
- Attire & tone
- Any preference for attire, background, and the character of the portrait.
